Lightship is an accredited Common Criteria lab. We use our Greenlight Conformance Automation Platform to ensure Common Criteria testing is as fast, thorough, accurate and repeatable as it can possibly be. We provide evaluation and consulting services for:
- Protection Profile based certifications; and
- EAL / Security Target based certifications.
Our Common Criteria certifications are recognized around the world including listing on the NIAP Product Compliant List.
We use a proven four step process:
1. Workshop
Our consultants will meet with your team to provide an executive overview of Common Criteria and how to best leverage it for your business. We will assist with scoping and requirements selection (e.g. EAL vs Protection Profiles), and provide an initial readiness assessment. We like to meet the people we do business with.
2. Functional Gap Assessment (FGA)
Because testing comprises approximately 60% of a standard Protection Profile evaluation, we test at the start of the process rather than the end (which is different to most labs) by using our industry first FGA offering. Using Greenlight, we can quickly and confidently identify all deficiencies up-front, giving you time to fix the code whilst our consultants produce the required documentation in parallel. This dramatically reduces redevelopment risk and avoids delays at the end of your evaluation.
3. Certify
The formal evaluation occurs under the Canadian Common Criteria Scheme which issues your certificate. The same team that performs the FGA also performs the evaluation – so by the time it comes to this phase, they are very familiar with your product and can expedite the formal testing process.
4. Maintain
To ensure that you get the most out your investment, we will work with you to put in place a strategy for keeping your certifications current. By leveraging Greenlight, this becomes easier than ever before. At Lightship, we believe there is no reason that vendors cannot maintain “continuous” certification to ensure their users always have access to the latest certified technology.
