Jason Lawlor – President
Jason brings more than 15 years of IT industry experience in building and operating successful businesses.
For the past 10+ years, Jason has been involved in the leadership of different cyber security companies, including being responsible for the accreditation, management and profitable growth of several government-accredited IT security laboratories. Jason is responsible for driving the Lightship vision of modernizing the product certification landscape – with a focus on building and deploying smart automation to allow certification in parallel with development. Better certification outcomes for Lightship clients is the overriding mandate for Jason and team.
Brad Proffitt – Director Operations
Brad brings more than 20 years of industry experience in both business development and operation management roles. For the past 10 years Brad has held leadership roles in building and operating cyber security test and certification labs for some of the largest system integrators in the world.
Brad brings this extensive experience to his mandate of operationalizing the Lightship innovation strategy in all facets of the business. Brad is responsible for driving efficient, quality results and ensuring the Lightship delivery team is building solutions and processes that solve client problems in a pragmatic, proactive and effective manner.
Greg McLearn – Technical Director
Greg has held a number of technical leadership roles in the cyber security industry over the past 8 years and has more than 15 years of IT experience across different industry verticals.
Today, Greg is the Technical Director and lead architect for the Greenlight automation platform at Lightship. Greg and his team have been codifying their years of Common Criteria and security evaluation work into an industry-first technology that is leading the modernization of how product assurance is performed. Under Greg’s leadership, the Common Criteria evaluation team uses and deploys Greenlight to support clients with both formal certifications and with Functional Gap Assessments to ensure certification at the speed of development – the core value proposition of Lightship.
Lachlan Turner – Director Consulting
Lachlan brings over 15 years of experience in the IT security industry with technical roles in government, large enterprise and startups.
Lachlan is responsible for advising our clients on how to achieve better certification outcomes. Our clients benefit from insights Lachlan has gained through extensive project delivery experience and active participation in international standards bodies and forums. Lachlan is also responsible for championing industry acceptance of test automation as the best means of modernizing product security certifications.
Kevin Steiner – US Lab Manager
Kevin brings over 7 years of experience while serving in evaluation and management roles for industry leading Common Criteria labs. Kevin specializes in Protection Profile evaluations via the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) scheme in the US and has also been responsible for infrastructure design and support.
At Lightship, Kevin oversees the United States operation by focusing on using Lightship’s innovation framework to streamline processes through repeatability, consistency, and automation. Kevin also believes that Lightship’s success is defined by the client’s satisfaction and seeks to provide exceptional customer service and communication throughout the evaluation process.
Cassie Wang – Head of Finance
Cassie is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the company’s business and finance functions. She manages the preparation of all financial reports, prepares annual budgets and business plans, assessment of expansion opportunities, governance, and risk management. She works closely with ownership to understand their challenges and provides process-driven solutions that drive profitable growth.
Cassie brings over 8 years of experience in corporate accounting with experience in public accounting, enterprises, and startups. Cassie is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool.
Kevin Beyer – Sales Director
Kevin brings 12+ years of leadership experience in sales, operations, and strategic alliances. He has worked closely with leading technology companies on various aspects of federal Government procurement and contracting. Kevin holds an IMBA in Technology Management.
At Lightship, Kevin is responsible for leading the sales organization and ensuring client value through the certification process. Working closely with Lightship’s leadership and testing experts, Kevin helps develop customized solutions to maximize the benefits our clients realize throughout the validation lifecycle.
